VaLogic’s GMP Calibration Process
Proper instrument calibration demands a structured, well-documented process. We provide clear guidelines for identifying equipment, selecting measurement standards, performing adjustments, and maintaining records. Extensive documentation provides evidence of calibration history and allows us to detect trends in performance in order to further minimize risk.
- Step 1: Equipment & Instrument Identification We work with your team to identify the instruments and equipment that need to be tested.
- Step 2: Determining Calibration Frequencies We create a calibration schedule determined by manufacturer recommendations, industry regulations, and operational demands. Critical instruments that impact product quality require more frequent calibration compared to support equipment. We will put together the ideal calibration routine for each type of equipment you use based on all these factors.
- Step 3: Selecting The Right Calibration Standards We use industry-standard calibration procedures and certified reference standards to ensure accuracy. All calibrations are performed in accordance with GMP, ISO 17025, and other relevant guidelines. SOPs for calibration activities are recorded so that every technician follows the same approved protocol.
- Step 4: Measurement & Adjustment Each instrument is carefully tested in a controlled environment against the appropriate reference standard. If deviations are detected, we take note in the calibration record and make adjustments to achieve proper functionality. Exposure to vibrations, high and low temperatures, humidity, and other environmental factors are taken into account when assessing and correcting deviations.
- Step 5: Repair & Maintenance As Needed When necessary, we perform minor repairs or routine maintenance to restore equipment performance. For larger repairs, we provide detailed recommendations and assist with next steps.
- Step 6: Process Documentation & Certification You receive a calibration report and certificate documenting compliance with all applicable standards. Calibration records for each piece of equipment include the ID number, manufacturer and model, calibration schedule, reference standard used, calibration results, and any follow-up actions taken.
- Step 7: Routine Recalibration Calibration is an ongoing process. When it’s time, we will schedule your next calibration appointment to preserve the continued accuracy of your instruments and equipment.
